Lurvey Winston Williams

I sure will miss him. Yes, he made me laugh.
He never was around and me depressed.
When I was maybe three or four years old,
And he was maybe six or seven years old,
He held my hand and took me to pre-school,
When I would cry, afraid to leave my home.
Our Teacher Myrtle‘s school was so close by.
Big Brother Lurvey told me not to cry.
He also told me not to be afraid.

When we grew up, we went our separate ways,
But when we met, he had me in stitches.
He would convince me that he was the most
Handsome of all his parents’ seven sons.
And then would start the argument amongst
His siblings, as to which one  was indeed
the most handsome of all. But we all knew
Who was the winner of the argument
and who was actually the most handsome.
He really made a worthy argument
And had us all laughing and in good jest.

My Cousin, Lurvey, once told me that I
May not be rich in material things
But that I am a successful human being,
which is the most important thing to be.
That made me strive to be a better Me.
Rest in peace, Brother, Cousin Lurvey🙏🏽🕊️
