Everyone feeds off of africa
My Mother lives in Africa.
She walks over gold, diamonds,
platinum, cobalt,
uranium, chromium,
and softer goods like
rubber, cocoa, and roses.
We know what it’s like to be thirsty.
We know what it’s like to be hungry.
We know what it’s like to be full.
But we must pay attention as we laugh and eat
so that we won’t get distracted and robbed.
There are enough riches to foster every need,
but they are squirreled away—
even outside of the Continent.
Men who work in the mines
get little or nothing to support their families.
They gave up a lot of gold.
They gave up a lot of diamonds.
They gave up a lot of platinum.
They gave up a lot of cobalt,
Uranium, chromium,
And they were robbed of their artwork.
Let’s get moving!
