WAR

It results in lose-lose situations
That are felt throughout all the nations.
It causes ideologies to live in heads
And makes strangers of people and their beds
Innocents are refugees, all in a minute
Even though they had nothing to do with it.

War makes some people harbor hate.
Both sides find peace after it’s too late;
After loved ones would have been maimed and lost;
And after families would have paid a heavy cost.
Most people seem to have an opinion
But in the long run, big damage is done.

War is a lose-lose sack of pain
Where what was there is never seen again;
Where sharing good times and family food
Is a fleeting memory to reminisce and brood.
Devastation-desolation is all that’s left.
Then, one knows what it’s like to be bereft.

War is the epitome of an ego
That was bruised, and would sooner create a foe
Than to forgive, seek peace, and make things right
While avoiding a useless and wasteful fight.
Eventually, the instigator will lie on his back
As a powerless, sad egomaniac.
